FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We answer all your questions!

  • What makes us different?

At Santé Pâquis, all our therapists evaluate each injury to determine its cause and diagnosis.

We treat the origin of the injury as well as the symptoms to prevent recurrence. We are proactive in offering movement re-education programs to ensure that you move properly after your injury or to prevent re-injury.

We place great emphasis on training to ensure that our therapists keep abreast of the latest treatment options, and that we have multiple options to treat your injury.

We give individual attention to every customer, from the welcome to the door.

  • What can I expect at a physiotherapy or osteopathy appointment?

The first appointment consists of a medical history, physical examination and treatment.

The history consists of collecting details of your injury by discussing your symptoms individually.

The physical examination involves inspecting the affected area and surrounding joints.

You will be asked to move and resist movement, and the therapist will perform special manual tests on the injured tissue.

In both therapies, you'll be given activities and exercises to do at home to alleviate your symptoms and prevent recurrence.

Follow-up appointments include review of progress, symptoms, evaluation of exercises and movements, treatment with modalities and progression of exercises and activities according to tolerance.

  • Who can benefit from physical therapy?

    Many people benefit from physiotherapy.

You may suffer from muscular weakness or balance problems, or you may have lost certain functional abilities and can no longer carry out your daily activities independently.

Physiotherapy can treat your discomfort and restore normal function.

  • Physiotherapy and osteopathy are reserved for people who have undergone surgery, trauma or a car accident, aren't they?

No! Many people who undergo physical therapy suffer from pain due to overuse of a joint or muscle, arthritis or other long-standing medical problems.

Physical therapy is for anyone who suffers from pain or has difficulty performing daily activities (e.g. climbing stairs, walking, lifting, sitting, etc.).

  • What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a healthcare profession that aims to restore, maintain or improve a patient's mobility, function and well-being, using physical methods such as massage, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapy...

Here are just a few examples of situations in which physiotherapy can be useful:

    • You have undergone surgery and need to regain your mobility.
    • You suffer from chronic back or neck pain.
    • You've sprained an ankle and have difficulty walking.
    • You've lost your independence following a stroke.
    • You want to improve your physical condition and prevent injuries.
  • Is physiotherapy reimbursed by insurance companies?

Physiotherapy is covered by basic and accident insurance (LaMal and LAA rates).

  • How much does a physiotherapy and osteopathy session cost?

    • You can also consult us privately: CHF 80/30 min and CHF 120/45 min.
    • Osteopathy covered by insurance: Tariff 126 CHF/60 min.
  • Do I need a doctor's note?

To be reimbursed by insurance, you must present your physiotherapy or osteopathy voucher at your first appointment.

  • How can I cancel an appointment?

Please note that any appointment not cancelled 24 hours in advance (working day) will be billed. We need this time in order to be able to replace it.

Every appointment not booked is a place lost for someone else!
For the same reason, for 45-minute treatments, home treatments and those taking place during school vacations, we ask you to cancel 24 hours in advance.

You can change your appointments online or by phone: 022 732 12 72.

Please note that weekends and public holidays are not included in the 24/48h calculation.
